Adei Radio — Afghanistan’s National Physical Education and Sports Directorate says taekwondo athlete Mohammad Gul Mohammadi won a bronze medal in the poomsae category at the eighth edition of the World Taekwondo Federation President’s Cup.
The directorate said in a statement Tuesday that Mohammadi competed against Pakistani opponents in three bouts. He won his first match on points, advanced after his second opponent failed to appear, and lost his third match.
The competition began Aug. 17 and will run through Aug. 21, with athletes from more than 40 countries taking part. Afghanistan is represented by a 16-member team.
