Adei Radio — A joint trade conference between Afghanistan and Iran was held in Kabul, focusing on expanding economic and trade relations between the two countries and investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s agricultural sector, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce said.
The ministry said the conference was attended by Industry
and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi, Deputy Agriculture Minister Sadr Azam
Osmani, several other Afghan officials, Iran’s Minister of Agriculture Jihad
and Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh, head of the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Economic
Commission, along with his delegation.
Azizi said there are significant commitments and
opportunities in trade between Afghanistan and Iran that could not only help
expand trade between Kabul and Tehran but also strengthen the economies of
countries across the region.
Azizi added that expanding relations with neighboring
countries is among the priorities of the Islamic Emirate government.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Agriculture Jihad Minister and Gholamreza
Nouri Ghezeljeh, head of the Afghanistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission, said
Kabul and Tehran need to expand bilateral relations and assured Afghanistan of
Iran’s cooperation in this area.
